A1. What is the Arnold Multi-Sports Festival?

2016 is the second year for The Arnold Multi-Sports Festival in Australia. It has been operating in the US for 26 years and was initiated by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Festival welcomes thousands of athletes to compete in many sports & events, including the ultimate body-building competition the Arnold Classic. It is a multi-sport event and promises to be the greatest sports-fitness experience of your life with thrilling moments of sports competition and fitness entertainment.

Fitness shoppers will enjoy the many stands at the Arnold Expo offering the biggest names in health & fitness who present the latest trends in fitness apparel, supplements, and training equipment.

Attendees will also enjoy the sightings of sport personalities, celebrities and the weekend's namesake Arnold Schwarzenegger himself.

A5. What do I see with the Daily Arnold Expo ticket?

The Daily Arnold Expo ticket grants admission to the majority of Arnold Multi-Sports Festival events, and also includes admission to the Expo.

Festival events you will see with the Daily Expo ticket include the preliminary competitions of the Arnold Classic 212, Fitness International & Figure International, the Arnold Amateur IFBB Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure, Bikini & Physique Championships, Professional and Amateur Strongman, Arm wrestling, Boxing, the Martial Arts Festival and non-stop fitness entertainment.

A6. Where can I purchase Arnold Expo tickets?

Tickets to the Arnold Expo are available on-line at www.arnoldclassic.com.au. If you register as an entrant in the Multi-Sports Festival you will receive a complimentary ticket to the Expo.

The Festival is an event for amateurs; men and women and children. Combining fun and competition, there is something for everyone in sport and fitness.

A8. Where are the Arnold Classic and the Multi-Sports Festival held?

The Arnold Classic and the Martial Arts Festival are held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, Melbourne. For the other outdoor events please check the details on this website.

A9. How do I get to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre?

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) is located on the banks of the iconic Yarra River in South Wharf. It's a short walk from Melbourne's central business district and just a 20-minute drive from Melbourne Airport.

A11. Where are the best places to park?

If you're driving to Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, there are five car parks available for use:

1. Melbourne Exhibition Centre Parking

1060 undercover parking spaces available, managed by Wilson Parking.

Entrance and exit off Normanby Road. Open 24 hours, seven days a week

Weekend rate: $17.00 per exit, per day.

Casual rates will otherwise apply.

Please note - All MCEC car park patrons will be directed to car park Door 1 during overnight closure (8.00pm 6.00am), to access the external areas of South Wharf Promenade.

2?. Siddeley Street Parking

Open 24 hours, seven days a week.

Weekend and public holiday rate: $11.00 per exit, per day.

3. Freeway Parking

This is a Wilson Parking car park, located at Munro Street under the Westgate Bridge. You can access this car park via Normanby Road and Munro Street.

Discounted parking rates are available for exhibitors.

4. South Wharf Parking

550 open air parking spaces available, managed by Wilson Parking.

Entrance off Normanby Road. Open 24 hours, seven days a week.

Fees (weekdays including public holidays):

  • 0.0 - 1.0 hours  $8.00
  • 1.0 - 2.0 hours  $16.00
  • 2.0 - 3.0 hours  $24.00
  • 3.0 - 4.0 hours  $32.00
  • 4.0 - 5.0 hours  $40.00
  • 5.0 + hours  $40.00
Lost ticket  $50.00

Evening rate: $10.00 entry after 6.00pm and exit before 6.00am.

5. Montague Street Parking

This is a Care car park, located at Montague Street. You can access this car park via Munro Street followed by Montague Street.

Fees

  • 0.0 - 1.0 hour - $5.00

Daily maximum (Monday to Sunday) - $9.00 for up to 12 hours of parking.

Please note, on days that there is a public exhibition at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre the flat rate is $11.00 for up to 12 hours of parking.

A12.  What public transport is available?

By Tram

Catch any of the following trams and get off at the stop opposite the Clarendon Street entrance of MCEC:

  • Route 96 St Kilda to East Brunswick
  • Route 109 Port Melbourne to Box Hill
  • Route 112 West Preston to St Kilda

Alternatively catch tram number 48 or 70 and get off at the Flinders Street stop. Then take a short walk towards the Yarra River, across the Seafarers

By Train

Take any train that goes to Southern Cross Station. Get off at Southern Cross Station and catch tram number 96, 109 or 112 as above. For further train timetable information and trip planning, visit the Victorian Public Transport website www.ptv.vic.gov.au

By Bus

The SkyBus transports visitors directly from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross train station.

Bus route 237 operates from Queen Victoria Market, via Southern Cross Station to Lorimer Street South Wharf from Monday to Friday. Lormier Street is approximately a five minute walk to MCEC. There is also a coach pick up/drop off point at Bay 1, Convention Centre Place (closest to DFO South Wharf).
